RECONDITIONING FURNITURE AND PROVIDING IT TO PEDIATRIC WARDS AT THE HOSPITALS OF ÎNTORSURA BUZĂULUI AND COVASNA

Beneficiaries/participants 

20 eco-ambassadors refurbished furniture for children - 8 small tables and 10 chairs.

Beneficiaries: children patients who will go to the "Pediatrics" wards of the 2 hospitals.

The activity consisted in refurbishing furniture at the "Mircea Eliade" Theoretical High School and offering it to the Pediatric wards of the hospitals of Întorsura Buzăului and Covasna.

The need that the reported initiative meets:

By chance we found out that in the waiting rooms of the Pediatrics of the 2 hospitals children have nothing to sit on while waiting for consultation.

Activity description:

The small sized furniture was donated by the "Mihail Sadoveanu" Secondary School. It was going to be scrapped. Knowing the need of the two hospitals, we came up with the idea of refurbishing it - 8 small tables and 10 chairs.

First, we repaired the furniture with the help of maintenance workers employed by the high school. Then we sanded it and prepared it for painting. .... It was not as simple as we thought. It took about 5-6 stages of work before it was finished: the paint was not drying, the colors were still blending, the first type of varnish we bought did not adhere to the surface of the furniture, etc. But in the end it turned out a wonderful job!
